Recipe: Baked City Ham

Here’s how to warm our fully cooked city ham for a holiday dinner or Sunday brunch.  You can use your favorite glaze or try the one below.  If you prefer to not use a glaze, this ham is delicious as is!

Yields: approx. 4-6 servings

Ingredients:

1 (2 lb) City Ham

For the Glaze:

¼ cup Brown sugar

¼ cup Honey

1 TBS Brown Mustard

2 TBS juice such as orange, pineapple,

Pomegranate or apple

Method:

Remove the ham from the fridge about 45 minutes before you are ready to bake it.  Turn oven to 350 degrees F.  Place ham on rack inside a roasting pan with about ½ inch of water in the bottom.

Cover with foil or lid and bake until internal temperature reaches 140 degrees F.

If you are glazing the ham, remove foil or lid when ham reaches approx. 120 degrees F.  Spoon or brush glaze over ham and cook uncovered for remainder of cook time.

Place ham on cutting board and carve as desired.
